Amanda Use it daily, easy to apply and remove. Perfect coverage.

GottaLuvMDub I tried this product after hearing all the mineral hype...I really liked it...AT FIRST...They have a great shade for me in the winter but summer is another story...all of the shades are too orange for me even the light shades with the warmth...I liked the creamy texture but found that it tranfered on clothing/skin/other people easily...not to mention it has to be the messiest makeup out there...I was scrubbing my sinks every other day to keep it from staining...it had a nice dewey look to it but would become oily after a few hours of wear...but the worst part of all is THE BURNING!!! I kept wondering why my face would start burning at times...sometimes when i was out...making my nights sometimes almost unbearable! I did some research that this is caused by Bismuth Oxychloride...the ingredient that gives it that dewey/creamy look...upon finding this out I switched to Pur Minerals and found what I was looking for!(Less Mess,Great Coverage,Great Colors, and No Burning!!!) ...There are alot of things I liked about Bare but I don't think its made for everyone...or atleast me :( If you are having some of the same issues I suggest Pur...

Go Blue The makeup has coverage, and it doesn't seem to cause as many breakouts. Also, being African-American, it's pretty hard to find concealer that's dark enough for my skin tone- this is one of very few on the market. It also doesn't given an ashen appearance like other loose powders.

Only cons are that it's extremely messy (my bathroom is covered in Bare Minerals, and it's stained a few shirts), and kind of hard to travel with. Also, the "Dark" kit doesn't seem to match many darker skin tones well, so I found the starter kit pretty expensive for makeup I never used. I had to spend some serious quality time with the woman at Sephora (we didn't have an Ulta yet!) before I found 2 shades that worked well for me. Would also highly recommend that those with darker skin tones get the Tinted Mineral Veil instead of the regular Mineral Veil.

All in all, I love the product...just wish it wasn't so messy.

v I have been using Bare Minerals since I first saw it on tv about 4 years ago. I have tried many powder foundations since and none of them compares to Bare Minerals. BM has the best blend of coverage and illumination that you want. Since my pores are medium sized, which I absolutely hate, finding a foundation to make my skin look "poreless" has been really challenging. And really, that's what everyone wants -- to have that gorgeous, smooth skin that looks absolutely natural and not heavy and madeup. BM will deliver these results for you. I had used nothing but liquid foundations until I tried BM and I am so glad I did. I still do use liquid foundations in the Winter when it gets very cold and my skin gets dry. I find that BM is a bit difficult to wear in January/February but that is the only time I do not use it. Other than that I use it year round. I always used to be so envious of the dept. store makeup counter salesgirls who have this glowing gorgeous, flawless, poreless skin. (I bet they are using Bare Minerals and just keeping it a secret!!) Now you can have that too with the help of Bare Minerals. Thank you Leslie!!! Also, When you apply this -- don't put on too much -- layer it slowly so u get the right amount of coverage and spend time finding the exact color match -- get someone to help you. And use some type of prep on your skin first, like Bare Minerals skin revver-upper or smashbox primer. It makes a huge huge huge difference!

KaylaS124 Back in January, I started using the BareMinerals Original Foundation. I was hooked, instantly! Super easy to apply plus it felt great on my skin! Shortly after starting this foundation, I started experiencing horrible breakouts. I'm not talking a small pimple here and there during your period. I mean those under the skin, painful cysts. Because of these embarrassing pimples, I continued to buff this stuff into my skin, more and more each day, watching my acne get worse. Unaware that my new foundation could be the cause, I continued using this for a few months, still getting horrible cysts. My doctor prescribed me Epiduo AND and oral antibiotics. NOTHING was working. Finally, I decided to do some research into BareMinerals. I was shocked when I found page after page filled with information on why this is some of the worst stuff for your face. Type in "BareMinerals causing acne" into Google and do some research. I urge everyone to look up the facts about this foundation before buying it, ESPECIALLY if you have sensitive, acne prone skin (mica and bismuth oxychloride are used in this product). Bismuth oxychloride is a known skin irritant, which is funny because the reason I tried this is because the brand markets itself as all natural with no skin irritants! Don't make the mistake I did. Now that I've discontinued using anything BareMinerals, the cysts have decreased dramatically. Don't be fooled with this stuff!

The Epic Skeptic Let me start by saying it is very difficult for me find foundation. I have an array of skin problems including acne, acne scarring, large pores, sensitivity, redness, and combination skin. Now that I have just turned 29, I am also noticing a few fine lines.

I have seen all of the commercials for this product advertising it's fantastic coverage, easy application, hypoallergenic properties, and the ability to actually improve skin.

I finally decided to give it a try and bought the starter kit. The first thing I noticed was how messy it is to apply which I could have easily dealt with if it lived up to all of its other claims. Unfortunately it did not. I put a layer on and it didn't do much to cover the redness, acne or scarring. Since it is supposed to be buildable coverage I added another layer.....and then another. Finally when I got the level of coverage I needed it began to look a bit cakey. I smoothed it out as best I could and went about my day. After about three-four hours my face started getting shiny, the make-up was rubbing off at the slightest graze, and it started to settle into my fine lines making me look twice as old.

On the positive side it never turned orange throughout the day which I usually have a problem with and it did not aggrevate my sensitive skin or acne.

I wanted to like this product but unfortunately it ended up being yet another waste of money. The quest continues for that perfect foundation.

I would recommend this to teens and early twenty-somethings who don't need heavy coverage and don't have any fine lines for this to settle into.

Rachel I absolutely LOVE bareMinerals. I have been using this makeup since I was 14 years old!

It is easy to apply - It blends well and looks natural.

It doesn't feel like I am putting on a "mask" every morning like other makeups. I like that it looks like MY OWN SKIN (just better).

It is worth every penny. (So are the makeup brushes.)

The people on those infomercials weren't lying... It's AMAZING!

mommyof3 I have given Bare Mineral a chance 3 times since they came out in the market. One time I thought It was because I just given birth, but turns out it was the Foundation. As a mother of 3, I wanted something fast! I have worn several foundations and powders, but the simplicity was very convenient. As soon As I put on the Foundation, My whole face became extremely itchy which was rare because I do not have sensitive skin. As a make-up artist, I have tried too many different types of foundations and NONE of them made me itch. The coverage is horrible, no coverage at all. I decided to do a search on why my face became itchy. I found that one of the main ingredient in Mineral make-up is bismuth oxychlorid which is a by-product of LEAD AND COPPER that is crystallized into a fine powder which then gets into the pores and blood stream causing an allergic reaction. It also causes breakout because it clogs the pores. NEVER again will I buy it. Even after I wash it off, I felt itchy for hours!

Lollie i absolutely love bareminerals foundation. its so easy to apply and you can add as much coverage as you want, from light to full coverage. i've heard people say that they couldn't get it to cover there red spots, but if you are applying the makeup correctly, you can cover anything!

i would HIGHLY recommend getting the starter kit and watching the ENTIRE instructions video they give you. if you just sit down with the makeup and do what they say, you will get the coverage you want. and then once you get the hang out it, it very easy and fast to apply.

i have combination skin with oily spots and dry patches and i tend to break out and get dark eye circles. i feel like the foundation works great for me. as long as i use a moisturizer, the dry patches are hidden and using mineral veil helps control shine.

love it! highly recommended! warning, contains bismuth and some people react to that. for the first couple months of wearing this makeup it made my face *slightly* itchy, but after that i no longer notice any irritation at all.
